Ambassador Toni Helen is the webmaster of an entertainment website (www.young-restless.com) which provides a day ahead recap of the soap The Young and The Restless. The site gets 1.5 to 2 million hits per month and has many loyal readers. Toni's stepson has fibrolamellar and she is hoping to leverage her readership into support for, and awareness of, Fibrolamellar. Toni runs advertising campaigns on the site which support operating costs. She has replaced one of the paid ads with a promotion for FCF! There is a graphic link on the front page http://www.young-restless.com and an appeal on page 3 - http://www.young-restless.com/
Ashley Summerlin Murphy, FHC patient and author of Daddy’s Briefcase sent the following message:
“…a portion of the first years proceeds from Daddy’s Briefcase will go to the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation!!! Ya’ll keep up the hardwork over at FCF even on the days it doesn’t feel like your making a difference, you really are. As long as I’ve been in this FHC world this is the most activity I have seen in one place. All of us pulling this together to make it work! We might not find that “cure” but we will find love, peace, hope, treatment, doctors, etc., for others. Something I have been passionate about for a long time – kinda like Tucker!!!
Carrie Lynn Reiners, wife of fibrolamellar patient Dustin, sold “jelly watches” (like Swatch watches) at a local country fair called Smoke on the Water in Washington, North Carolina Oct 21-22. She donated proceeds to FCF. Thanks Carrie!
FCF Ambassador Nel Andrews was the guest bartender on Sat Oct 1 at Captain Larry’s Bar & Grill, 601 East Fort Avenue, Baltimore. Festivities included games and drink specials. All bartender tips were donated to FCF. It was a great event and special thanks to Nel for organizing and publicizing such a creative fun way to raise money for fibrolamellar liver cancer.
Autumn Smith, wife of fibrolamellar patient Mark, is a jewelry designer. She donated 30% of all her sales for the months of September and October to the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation! Please check out her website at: http://designsbyautumn.etsy.com
Welcome to our new website. We hope you find it interesting and informative. This is our modest beginning to develop this site into all things fibrolamellar, a place for patients, doctors, researchers and donors to help fight this killer cancer.
